Avoca vs Broccoli AI (2026)

Avoca vs Broccoli AI compared: pricing from shared quotes, ServiceTitan fit, who each is built for, and the option for shops below their bar.

Avoca vs Broccoli AI (2026)

If you run an HVAC or plumbing shop on ServiceTitan and you have started shopping for an AI CSR, two names come up first: Avoca and Broccoli. Both answer calls around the clock, book jobs into your field-service software, chase leads, and score your human CSRs. Both are well funded, both sell through a demo, and neither publishes a price.

This guide compares them on the things that decide the purchase: who each one is actually built for, what they cost in practice, how deep the integrations go, and how to run a fair demo. It also covers the shops that sit below both vendors' target customer, which is where Service Socket fits.

Sources were checked October 12, 2026. Service Socket competes with both companies, so we have stuck to what each vendor publishes about itself, and labeled every third-party number as third-party.

Quick answer

  • Choose Avoca if you run a multi-CSR call center on ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro and want inbound booking, outbound campaigns, and call coaching from one vendor, with a dedicated success manager.
  • Choose Broccoli if you want a roster of specialized AI agents (CSR, receptionist, estimate follow-up, memberships, reminders) booking straight onto your ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro dispatch board, plus instant response to LSA, Yelp, Angi, and Thumbtack leads.
  • Choose neither if you are under about $3 million in revenue, have no dedicated CSR, are not on ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, or need a published price before you talk to sales. That is the gap a front office like Service Socket is built for.
  • On price: shared customer quotes put both at roughly $950 to $1,100 a month for 1,000 AI minutes, with per-minute overage after that. Treat those as indicative, not a quote.

Who each one is really built for

The most useful evidence here comes from the vendors themselves.

Avoca's referral program terms, which run through December 31, 2026, only reward demos for companies that operate in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, or garage door services, have generated over $3 million in annual revenue, employ two or more CSRs, and use ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro. That is not a hard rule about who may buy, but it tells you exactly which customer Avoca's sales team is set up to win. Its showcase customers include PE-backed platforms and multi-brand groups, and its Marketplace listing describes multi-brand rollouts "managing dozens of brands under one platform."

Broccoli's homepage groups its customer logos into revenue bands that start at $2-10 million and run up to $100 million-plus and enterprise groups. Its footer also lists solutions for single operators and small businesses, so a smaller shop should ask directly rather than assume it is excluded. The sales motion is a pilot, a launch, and then a rollout, led by an implementation team and an AI Strategy Lead.

The practical read: both are built to slot into an established call center running ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro. If that describes you, shortlist both. If you are a two-to-six truck shop where the owner and one office manager answer the phone, you are below the customer both companies are designed around.

What Avoca and Broccoli cost

Neither company publishes pricing. Avoca's /pricing page returns a 404, and Broccoli's site routes every price question to a sales call. The only concrete figures we found come from customer quotes that owners shared with Upfirst, a competing vendor, and published in its Avoca alternatives guide (updated August 18, 2026).

Shared quote (third-party)AvocaBroccoli
Entry package$1,100/mo$950/mo
Included minutes1,0001,000
Overage$1.15 per minute$0.90 per minute
Setup fee$600 one-timeNone reported
Billing incrementsAskReported as billed to the second

These are individual quotes, not list prices. Your number will depend on call volume, modules (outbound and coaching are typically separate), locations, and contract length. Use them to sanity-check a proposal, not to budget to the dollar.

Questions that change the real cost more than the headline price:

  1. Are calls billed per second, or rounded up to the next minute?
  2. What happens at the end of the included minutes: overage, or an automatic jump to a higher tier?
  3. Is there a setup or onboarding fee, and is it refundable if the pilot fails?
  4. What is the minimum term, and is there an exit if booking rates do not hit the agreed number?
  5. Are outbound campaigns, coaching, web chat, and Spanish-language handling included or priced separately?
  6. Do spam calls and wrong numbers count against your minutes?

Worked cost scenarios

The scenarios below are hypothetical and use the shared quotes above with a three-minute average call, the same assumption Upfirst uses. They are not quotes from either company.

ScenarioAvoca (shared quote)Broccoli (shared quote)Service Socket
A. Overflow and after-hours: 100 AI calls, 300 minutes$1,100, plus $600 setup in month one$950Pro at $299 covers it inside the included credits
B. Full front desk: 333 calls, 1,000 minutes$1,100$950Beyond Pro's included credits; metered overage applies
C. Peak month: 533 calls, 1,600 minutes$1,100 + 600 x $1.15 = $1,790$950 + 600 x $0.90 = $1,490Same as B

Scenario A is where the two models diverge most. A shop that only needs AI on overflow and after-hours calls pays for 1,000 minutes and uses 300. On Service Socket's published credit costs, a three-minute call uses 12 voice credits and a booking adds 5, so 100 calls with 40 bookings is about 1,400 credits, well inside Pro's 2,500.

Scenario B is honest about the other side. If AI answers your whole phone line at 1,000-plus minutes a month, you are in the volume Avoca and Broccoli price for, and Service Socket's included credits will not cover it on their own. Get quotes from all three at your real call volume.

Scenario C is the heat-wave month. On per-minute plans, the busiest week of the year also produces the biggest bill. That is not a reason to avoid them, but it is a number to put in the spreadsheet before you sign.

If you do not know which scenario you are in, start with what the missed calls are worth. Our missed-call estimates for HVAC and plumbing shops run the math with your own weekly calls and average ticket.

Integration depth: the real differentiator

For a ServiceTitan shop, the integration is the product. A booking that does not land as a real job, on a real slot, with the right job type, is a callback someone still has to make.

Avoca publishes unusually detailed ServiceTitan integration documentation. It describes booking, rescheduling, and cancelling jobs through ServiceTitan's APIs, reading dispatch capacity, and pulling customer, membership, and service-history context into calls. Broccoli's homepage shows bookings syncing straight to ServiceTitan with the technician assigned, and lists Housecall Pro, Salesforce, and AccuLynx as CRM integrations, plus custom integrations for other systems.

Both lean hardest on ServiceTitan. If you run Jobber, FieldEdge, Workiz, or no field-service software at all, ask each vendor exactly what a booking looks like on your system before you go further. Neither lists those platforms among its named integrations.

Run a fair demo bake-off

Both companies offer a live demo line. Call each one from a cell phone, with some background noise, and run the same script:

  1. "My AC is blowing warm air and I have a newborn at home." (Does it recognize urgency, and what does it do with it?)
  2. Give a zip code just outside your service area. (Does it check before booking, or book first and sort it out later?)
  3. Change the appointment day while it is checking availability. (Does the final booking reflect the change?)
  4. Correct your street number partway through. (Is only the corrected address on the job?)
  5. Ask a question in Spanish, if that matters in your market.
  6. Say "I want to talk to a person." (How fast, and does the person get the context?)

Then, on the sales call, ask to see the job record each test call created. Our longer guide to why calls still sound robotic explains what to listen for on talk-over, timing, and corrections.

Where Service Socket fits: the third option

Service Socket works for shops of any size, from one truck to hundreds. It is the stronger fit when you want published pricing, a front office that books into its own jobs, and no sales cycle to learn a price, whether or not you have a dedicated CSR team.

What you get:

  • Published pricing. Starter is $99/month with 500 AI credits and 1 phone line. Pro is $299/month with 2,500 AI credits and up to 3 lines. Metered overage applies beyond the included credits, and every plan includes unlimited technicians.
  • Enterprise for large crews. A custom AI credit allocation, dedicated phone lines, custom workflows and integrations, SLA guarantees, and dedicated support.
  • Self-serve signup with founder-led onboarding and human monitoring, instead of a pilot negotiation.
  • One Customer Agent on voice and website chat, sharing the same conversation, so a caller who continues on your site does not start over.
  • Booking against real availability into native leads and jobs, with quotes, invoices, and online payments from Starter up.
  • Emergencies handled as a warm transfer. The call goes to a person, who hears a spoken summary first.
  • Pro follow-up: outbound SMS, AI outbound calls, dispatch suggestions, and a schedule board.

What it does not do, stated plainly:

  • No ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or Jobber sync today. Those integrations are on the roadmap. If your jobs must be written into ServiceTitan now, Avoca or Broccoli is the better fit.
  • Not a call-center coaching suite. If scoring a team of CSRs is a core requirement, both vendors go deeper.
  • Not flat-priced at call-center volume. At 1,000-plus AI minutes a month, usage goes past the published plans' credits; Enterprise sets a custom allocation, so compare quotes honestly, as in scenario B.

Frequently asked questions

Is Avoca or Broccoli cheaper?

Neither publishes pricing. Customer quotes shared with Upfirst in August 2026 put Broccoli at about $950 a month and Avoca at about $1,100 a month plus a $600 setup fee, each for 1,000 minutes, with overage of $0.90 and $1.15 per minute respectively. Your quote will depend on volume, modules, and term.

Do Avoca and Broccoli publish their pricing?

No. Both sell through a demo and a custom proposal. Ask for the billing increment, overage terms, setup fee, and minimum term in writing.

Which is better for ServiceTitan shops?

Both are built around ServiceTitan. Avoca publishes detailed documentation of its ServiceTitan API workflows, and Broccoli books directly onto the ServiceTitan dispatch board. Run the same demo script on both and inspect the job records each test call creates.

Are Avoca and Broccoli good for small HVAC or plumbing shops?

They can work, but both are designed around established call centers. Avoca's referral terms target companies with over $3 million in revenue and two or more CSRs. Smaller shops that mainly need overflow and after-hours coverage often get better value from a product with published pricing.

Do Avoca or Broccoli offer a free trial?

We did not find a self-serve free trial on either site. Both start with a demo, and Broccoli describes larger deployments starting with a pilot.

Does Service Socket integrate with ServiceTitan?

Not today. ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, and Jobber syncs are on the roadmap. Service Socket runs native leads, jobs, quotes, and payments now, with live integrations such as Google Calendar and Stripe.

Pick the tool that matches your phone line

Avoca and Broccoli are strong products for the shops they are built for: established call centers on ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro, priced by the minute through a sales process. If that is you, run both through the same bake-off and negotiate the billing terms.

If you are the owner still answering the phone between jobs, compare the answering-service alternatives, check Service Socket pricing, or get started this week.
